The sensor measures the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle in front of it as part of the vehicle’s parking assist system.

This is a front parking sensor, not a reversing or parking sensor intended for the rear bumper. Tesla has modified its parking assist hardware, and some newer cars use the camera-based Tesla Vision system without physical ultrasonic sensors.

This spare part is only suitable for cars with ultrasonic sensors installed in the front bumper. In addition, make sure that the OE number, connector, and appearance of the old sensor match this product.

Installation

When replacing the front parking sensor, the necessary parts of the bumper are removed according to Tesla’s instructions; the sensor’s electrical connector is opened and the sensor is replaced with its holder. First, ensure the exact location of the sensor in the bumper: the inner and outer sensors as well as the sensors for the Model X: are subject to different operating instructions.
