If the purpose is to hang anything heavier than a cotton laundry bag on the one- or three-hook model, the hooks will not stay attached. Shopping bags also do not stay upright with these, but the hooks detach on their own.
The one-hook version is completely useless. The three-hook version might work if it attached to the upholstery with Velcro, for example.
